Members of the "Belgrade Union" announced that they were attacked on the stage in Subotica, where they held a concert as part of a large student protest.
On May 17, the Belgrade union held a concert in Subotica, as part of a large student protest called "The North is calling".
"At one point, BS was attacked on stage by paid hooligans, who approached the stage and then threw eggs and tomatoes at the band members, with the intention of causing chaos and riots at a peaceful and dignified gathering of citizens," the statement said.
They thanked the veterans of the Serbian Army and the student guards who, as they point out, caught the attackers who cowardly fled and made a civil arrest.
"Everything happened in full view of the police who passively observed the attack on BS and did not react until veterans and students demanded that they arrest the attackers. We hereby request the competent authorities to sanction any further orchestrated attempt to cause chaos and conflict at peaceful protests," the statement said.
They note that the members of the band are daily exposed to the worst threats and insults on social networks and that "with this attack, the regime has entered the next phase, which also represents physical attacks."
"We will not stop because of this. We continue to pump even harder, since these heinous attacks only tell us that freedom is around the corner!", said members of the Belgrade union.
