After release to house arrest, shortly after the defense Dijane Hrkalović taken over by the high-ranking member of the Serbian Progressive Party and lawyer for special tasks Vladimir Đukanović, on Monday followed the cancellation of that measure for the former state secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In exchange for leaving his apartment and taking off his ankle boots, Hrkalović will hand over his passport to the police, report to the police once a week and stay in the territory of Belgrade just in case. It appears that there is no longer any danger of escape.
The decision to cancel house arrest was made by judge Slađana Marković at the request of the defense attorney, and Đukanović later told reporters that he himself did not "expect the court to approve" what he requested.
On the other hand, the High Court in Belgrade confirmed the indictment for two more murders against the criminal group Veljko Belivuk - Goran Mihajlović in 2019 and Nikola Mitić in August 2020. They are now charged with a total of seven liquidations.
The murder of Mihajlovic was discovered when another member of the group decided to "sing" in exchange for a lesser sentence. Nikola Spasojević told in detail how Mihajlović was kidnapped and killed, and the body was destroyed. Also, in addition to the testimony, there are also photos of the murdered man intercepted on the hacked "Sky" application. Mitić, on the other hand, was caught and liquidated in Ritopek because the group allegedly thought he was following her.
The trial of Belivuk, Miljković and the others still hasn't started, almost a year and a half after their arrest. First, Judge Trajković was on sick leave, and later it turned out that some of the defendants did not have lawyers. The lawyer of Belivuk and Miljković, Dejan Lazarević, was prevented from continuing to represent them because he himself found himself on the dock side by side with Darko Šarić, whom he also defended.
Dijana Hrkalović is accused of influence peddling in three cases: first, that she ordered police chief Dejan Milenkovic not to deliver Belivuk's phones from the forensic examination to the court in time, after the murder on the tracks in 2017. She is also charged with the order to delete part of the tape of the wiretapped conversation of lawyer Dragoslav Miša Ognjanović, in which he talks about her connections with criminals, but also that she ordered Novi Sad police chief Milorad Šušnjić to falsely impeach the criminal Darko Elez.
The Belivuk clan and Dijana Hrkalović are being tried in completely separate proceedings, although they overlap with each other. In addition to them, proceedings against several police chiefs and inspectors also continue due to influence peddling. Among all the evidence or statements, names from the very top of the Serbian state appear. However, none of them have been investigated to date.
Among the mentioned former members of the Serbian police is the Inspector of the Service for Combating Organized Crime Božidar Stolić, who is on trial for providing information about the investigations against the Belivuk clan and later when they were arrested about how they are being held for monetary compensation. As Krik wrote, at his trial, also on Monday, a message from the "Sky" application was shown stating that "there is no president who is asked more questions on the street" than Vučić.
