The amount is almost nothing for progressives - not even 150.000 euros. But the small example clearly shows the model of the big one corruption on which the progressive government rests. Someone buys more expensive waste containers from the budget and puts the difference in their own pocket, someone else charges for the construction of one kilometer of highway many times more than it was foreseen.
Sometimes a minor player falls in order to show how the fight against corruption is taking place, or because he "grew up" in the ranks of the Serbian Progressive Party. The big ones stand high above the law.

In the continuation of the fight against corruption, members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Anti-Corruption Department of the Criminal Police Administration, on the order of the Special Department for Suppression of Corruption of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Nis, arrested three people due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they damaged the budget of the City of Bor by more than 16,6 million dinars through abuses in the public procurement procedure, the MUP announced.
The former assistant to the mayor of the town of Bor NM (1992) from Bor, the owner of the business company "Eastern Office" MB (1994) from Majdanpek and the former director of the business company "Resor" from Gadžina Hana DM (1993) from Niš were arrested.
As suspected, in the period from December 26, 2023 to June 7, 2024, MB and DM, according to the instructions of NM, who was then the assistant to the mayor of Bor in charge of the public procurement of waste containers, delivered increased container prices to the City Administration of Bor, presenting them as market prices, on the basis of which NM announced a public procurement in the amount of 40 million dinars, in which the company MB "Eastern Office", with an offer from 39.978.600 dinars, selected as the only bidder.
Illegal material gain
Then, as is suspected, by paying the difference between the real market price and the increased price of the public procurement, the suspects obtained an illegal financial benefit to this company and thus damaged the budget of the City Administration of Bor by 16.629.799 dinars.
NM, MB and DM were detained for up to 48 hours and they will be brought to the competent prosecutor's office, along with a criminal report for the criminal offense of abuse of official position.
