Parliamentary, Belgrade, partly local, and provincial elections in Serbia were announced for December 17, and they fell significantly agreements on opposition columns, and the President of Serbia waited from five to 12 to officially announce the parliamentary elections, the deadline was November 2.
The government, namely SNS and SPS, have almost all possible resources for an aggressive political campaign, which, it seems, started a long time ago and has not ended. From human resources, through national media, social networks, people on the ground, their election campaign is highly visible. However, what about the opposition's campaign?
"The campaign has been going on for a long time, I mean the government and all the opposition. It was expected a month ago that there would be an election and everyone has already entered the campaign. I see the opposition campaign, as much as I can see from a part of the media and on social networks, which are the resources they have at their disposal. We see that one part of the opposition, Serbia, is against violence since yesterday started with meetings, what I accompanied were the DSS-POKS who have been visiting Serbia for a long time and talking to people, for example, you don't see that much in the media, but you can see it on social networks," commented political scientist Boban Stojanović for the "Vremena" portal.
He says that he sees that Dveri and Zavetnici have entered into a rebranding campaign, or rather branding, before the announcement of elections, that they have the resources to work in the field, while some other parts of the opposition are still collecting signatures as a kind of campaign and an attempt to communicate, as well as to way they activate people, that's what he can expect until the end.
"I see that the Green-Left Front has announced a door-to-door campaign, but the question is how much of Belgrade can they cover, and we will probably have an opposition campaign in larger cities, that's around 15 larger cities, everything else is questionable, how many resources do they have in other places, except in big cities, and how safe it is to engage in politics at the local level in some smaller towns," says Boban Stojanović.
