The political crisis that has been going on for months in Serbia it gave rise to a new narrative authorities - about the fact that within it there are people who "undermine the system", and that they are the initiators of the ongoing revolution.
By making such claims, the MP Serbian Progressive Party Vladimir Djukanovic he stated that "revolution which was attempted, goes from the government and from the system".
"We have to face it, it's a 'deep state' system. We have a part of the state that has been hijacked. Let's not lie, this is all induced from the outside, but the main drivers in Serbia are people from the government and people from the system," Djukanović told Pink TV.
We thus received an assertion from the top of the government, which has been hijacking state institutions for years, appointing henchmen in key positions who do not oppose it, that there are still those who think differently - and that they are undermining the system.
According to him, "those people who make up the 'deep state' are the main generators, the brains of the operation - the so-called sleepers".
Thus, Đukanović, part of the government system - from prosecutors, judges, policemen - accused them of undermining the state.
"These are people in the security system, people in the judiciary, people in culture, the media. As logistics, the media's N1 poison control center, Nova S, various portals and social networks, and the infantry in the field are the so-called students, that is, members of various radical-leftist anarcho organizations, who are trained as some kind of Hamas, terrorist organization or I don't know what, to carry out such actions", said Đukanović.
Reaction of the MUP to the acquittal in Uzice
One of the last cases showed that there is turmoil in the system Ministry of Interior (Ministry of Interior) dared to the decision of the Basic Court in Uzice which terminated the detention of the suspects "attack on officials during an unannounced public gathering on July 6 in Užice".
The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that by abolishing detention, "a message is sent to the public that an attack on police officers, who protect the safety of citizens and take care of public order and peace, is permissible and unpunished."
"We consider it inappropriate that the judiciary, as an independent branch of government, by making decisions to the detriment of police officers, who perform their duties professionally and legally, is subject to pressure from members of the public and, by letting the suspects defend themselves from freedom, diminishes the gravity of the committed crime. Especially if it is taken into account that some people spent several months in custody for minor crimes," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, such a decision "raises the question of what kind of message the court, whose task is to protect the legal order, sends to police officers, if attacks on them are treated in this way, bearing in mind that police officers are on official duty every day to protect public order and peace and the safety of citizens, including the safety of judges and prosecutors", the Ministry of Internal Affairs' statement concludes.
Scandalizing on Pink
TV Pink then read the names of the judges of the Judicial Council in Užice who acquitted the "blockaders-thugs" who "beat the policemen" and blocked the main road.
Pink's interlocutors, Informer owner Dragan J. Vučićević and SNS official and lawyer Vladimir Đukanović, assessed it as a "shame for the Serbian judiciary".
The president of the National Assembly, Ana Brnabić, was also scandalized because of "selective justice" and "pressure on the judiciary".
Vučićević called on the "state" to react "most energetically" to the verdict of the Basic Court in Užice, and stand in the way of "the minority that threatens and fights can do everything with impunity".
What is the "deep state"?
The term "deep state" briefly refers to the administrative and security structures that, in combination with big capital, make decisions.
The term "deep state" originally referred to hidden security bureaucracies in countries like Turkey and Egypt with ominous overtones, and today it is also mentioned in the Trump administration.
The "deep state" has been the subject of debate in Serbia for years.
Many saw the role of the "deep state" in the murder of Prime Minister Zoran Đinđić the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, spoke in 2024 about a meeting with "representatives of the American deep state, who decide the fate" of the country.
