How is it "Vreme" revealed on Monday, the Commission for Technical Inspection of the Railway Station in Novi Sad let the station into trial operation in April last year - with falsified documents.
According to the law, this license for trial work can change the usage license for one year.
So, since last May, ministers and others took pictures at the station, solemnly opened it and praised it, and then in November, the concrete canopy fell, killing fifteen people.
"Vreme" had a look at the confirmation of the technical commission for trial operation, which has the signatures of the president of the commission, Milutin Savović, and five other members of the commission.
Savovic and four other people were arrested on Monday.
It's not right, but they signed anyway
In the meantime, New Economy has obtained the minutes from the hearing of Savović and other members of the commission, which - in their capacity as citizens - took place back in December.
Savović then admitted to the prosecutor in Novi Sad that they had broken the law, allegedly at the insistence of Elektrodistribucija and Elektromreza in order to connect the station building to electricity.
"Otherwise, all works would have to be stopped, and that's why we gave this report, even though it wasn't right." This therefore means that we could not provide such a report for the trial work in accordance with the Rulebook for the performance of a technical inspection, but we still did it for the reasons I stated," said Savović in front of the prosecutor.
Savović claimed that in April 2024, the entire station was not inspected, but the power, security and telecommunication devices.
But, as can be seen on the document published by "Vreme", it explicitly says that "the building was constructed in accordance with the project for a building permit" and that it was "approved for trial work" in order to "determine the suitability of the building for use".
Savović accused of forging signatures
In addition to Savović, Slobodanka Katanić, manager of investments in the public company Infrastructure of Railways of Serbia, was also arrested, as well as three other people from the commission whose signatures can be seen in the picture - Jelena Vesić, Marija Nenezić Jović and Biljana Krstić.
However, as New Economy writes, they claimed back in December that they were seeing the disputed document for the first time and that they had never signed it.
According to Nenezić Jović, according to the agreement, all minutes were signed exclusively by Savović.
"For those purposes, we sent him scans of our signatures and seals, and he should have inserted our scanned signatures and seals into the technical inspection records," said Nenezić Jović at the time.
Their testimonies indicate that the permit for trial operation of the railway station should have applied to only one part of it, but the signatures of the members of the commission were placed on the document approving the operation of the entire facility, Nova ekonomija writes.
Faster, faster, faster
Savović is the owner and director of the company Trioprojekt, which was part of the consortium responsible for the technical review of the entire railway project. The consortium also includes the companies Beogradčvor and KBV Datacom.
As it was revealed earlier, Savović and Katanić were in correspondence and in contact with Nataša Vukšić, a little-known adviser to President Aleksandar Vučić who managed the station reconstruction project from the shadows.
BIRN is recently discovered that Vukšić did the same with the construction of the thermal power plant block in Kostolac, where she rushed the engineers, insulted and threatened them. When they insisted on procedures, she called them "purists".
