Pink Television, which has been considered a close medium for decades the ruling party, last year it made a profit of 5,5 million euros. This is, by the way, drastically more than a year before, when Pink's profit amounted to around one and a half million euros, writes Dunja Marić on portal New Economy.
Television Pink, owned Željko Mitrović, successfully operating - they have existed since the end of the nineties, have a national frequency and a large number of commercials and advertisers. Therefore, it is not surprising that the data that can be seen in the new financial report, that last year Pink achieved business income in the amount of 9,3 billion dinars.
That year, however, Pink had to pay employees' salaries, taxes, loan installments... So the net profit was reduced to about 644,7 million dinars, that is, almost 5,5 million euros.
When these figures are compared with the previous year, 2024, it can be seen that the profit increased dramatically - to 644,7 million, from the previous 186,5 million dinars. Therefore, the profit increased by as much as 245 percent in one year.
Pink's income itself grew from 8,4 billion dinars to around 9,3 billion dinars.
As for the costs that Pink had to pay, the most money went to wages - 3,6 billion dinars. This includes salaries, but also taxes and contributions on the wages of employees. Last year, by the way, 822 people worked at Pink.
And as can be seen in the cash flow statement, Pink had a big expense for loans. Namely, during the last year, Pink paid about 237 million dinars in the name of long-term loans in the country, which is more than 33 million in 2024. Also, the cost of short-term loans in the country was about one billion dinars last year.
SNS money
The connection with the ruling Serbian Progressive Party is reflected not only through editorial policy - but also through finances. At the end of 2024, CINS announced that, looking at the period from 2015 to 2023, SNS was the party that gave by far the most money on advertising during the campaigns – 30,3 million euros. Of that money, 8,4 million euros went to Pink.
Research by CINS showed how, by using leased time slots instead of ordinary promotional spots on Pink, SNS came up with much cheaper promotion during the elections. It is about more than 2,8 million euros, which the progressives did not pay in this way in the election cycles of 2020 and 2022.
Construction of a complex in Dedinje
As the portal Nova.rs announced in January, the company Pink Media Group should soon start the construction of business facilities in the immediate vicinity of the Pink television building.
This portal announced that Pink took out a loan in the amount of four million euros, and that on January 13, a request for a building permit was submitted. In the location conditions, it is stated that they are issued for the construction of a business building with a total gross construction area of about 5.923 square meters.
Nova also announced that the building will have three underground levels, a ground floor, two floors and a second floor. It is planned that 59 parking spaces will be created in the underground floors.
In addition to the new building, Mitrović is also known for building a villa in Dedinje. As BIRN announced in 2023, the plot on which the villa was built, which cost Mitrović 4,5 million euros, is located in the previously protected spatial-cultural complex "Senjak, Topčidersko brdo, Dedinje", and for all construction interventions on that land, the potential investor should ensure the conditions and consent of the competent body for the protection of cultural assets, in this case the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the City of Belgrade. BIRN announced that in the documents issued to Željko Mitrović, there is no such request, although at the time he received the location conditions and building permit, this plot was also in the zone of previous protection.
Mitrović told BIRN at the time that the building in Dedinje was built in accordance with all the requirements set for him, but that he knew in advance that the plot on which he was only planning construction would soon no longer enjoy the protection of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments.
