Confusion about taxes weapon it also happened in Vranje, that is, Vranjska Banja. Ninoslav Ismailović received a bill in January Tax Administration to 140.000 dinars for the gun that he returned to the Police Administration at the beginning of 2020, "Jugpress" writes.
The Ismailovics are not the only case in Vranjskj Banja. And their neighbors and friends in this place are waiting for the Tax Administration's response to the complaint.
And Vranjska Banja is not the only city where this happened. Confusion arose throughout Serbia at the end of 2024 when the owners of weapons, who had handed them over to the MUP several years ago, received a warning from the Tax Administration to settle their tax debts.
Citizens can lodge a complaint
On Monday, the Tax Office said that citizens can lodge an objection to the warning and that they will receive an answer in one month, writes "Novi Magazin".
One citizen said that on December 30, he waited in line at the Tax Administration for an hour and a half, but was unable to enter the building.
Warnings also came to those who claim to have regularly paid taxes on weapons, as well as to those who handed over weapons to the Ministry of the Interior several years ago.
Everyone received the same instructions from the tax office.
Whose jurisdiction is it
The Tax Administration responded to N1's request with a statement in which it stated that it is not in charge, so it checks who owns and who does not possess weapons:
"The tax administration by decision determines the tax on registered weapons exclusively on the basis of the electronic database submitted to it by the republican authority responsible for internal affairs that issued the document on the registration of weapons."
And the "authority responsible for internal affairs" is "of the opinion that the issue is mainly within the competence of the Tax Administration".
