There are no endangered houses, the cause is the human factor
The fire that broke out yesterday in the vicinity of Arandjelovac has been localized on two sides, its spread has been stopped and no houses are threatened, the commander of the Arandjelovac Fire and Rescue Unit Nenad Milivojević said today.
He said that the fire that broke out yesterday between Garaš and Darosava covered an area of 100 to 150 hectares.
"There is a lot of material damage. A huge area of forest complexes burned, but the most important thing is that there are no endangered households and no injured firefighters. It was prevented from spreading towards the houses in the Markovići and Garaš areas. So the situation is much more favorable," said Milivojević.
"A lot of people are on the field, a lot of machinery. The weather today is calmer, more favorable, there is no wind, and we hope that we will be able to put out this big fire today," Milivojević stressed.
He also says that the fire was reported to the fire service too late, which is why it covered a huge area.
