Every year, one woman, who has contributed to a better position and promotion of the LGBTIQ+ population through her public performances and advocacy, is declared the godmother of Pride. This year, Europride organizers chose political scientist and rapper Ivana Rašić, better known as Sajsi MC, as godmother.
For years, Saisi MC is one of the few celebrities who openly supports the LGBTIQ+ community. He says he is not gay, but when he sees injustice, he "feels it on his own skin".
She has been making music for two decades, and is known for her sharp, socially engaged lyrics. He deals with socially active topics, criticizing everything that is forbidden in Serbia - the church, patriarchy, capitalism.
Her career took off in 2011 after the song "Mama" in which she sarcastically criticizes social problems such as social inequality.
He says he wears the title with pride. "It should connect the past, the present and the future, and it should not be worn only for one week, which is during Pride Week."
In response to the ban on Pride, he says in the style of his song "Darkano hodanje gazim": "We will not walk, but walk boldly". She says that anger is her driving force that "drives" her to be creative.
Portal Nova.rs learns that after diplomatic efforts in the negotiations between the European Union and the cabinet of the Prime Minister of Serbia, an agreement was reached according to which the Europride walk will be allowed.
Before that, it was tweeted from the small EPOA-EuroPride that the Serbian Prime Minister allegedly said that the walk "can" dand is held, that "it can guarantee the safety of all participants". If this is true, then it is despite the prohibition of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Administrative Court and the words of Aleksandar Vučić from yesterday.
