At the citizens' protest in Rača due to the collapse of the ceiling in the Elementary School "Karađorđe" in Saranov, which was reconstructed only four months ago, everyone was asked to take responsibility last night who participated in the renovation of that school, and that the president of the municipality of Rača, which is the investor, file a criminal complaint against the contractor and the supervisory authority.

The tragedy at the Elementary School "Karađorđe" in Saranovo was avoided by chance because the ceiling fell in the night between April 21 and 22, when no one was in the school due to the holidays.

On the first working day after Easter, it was discovered that the ceiling had fallen and the students were sent home for safety reasons.

Last night's protest rally was organized by members of the informal group Mladi iz Rača together with students from that place, and was attended by the residents of Saranov, Rače, parents of children and members of the Free University of Kragujevac.

One of the students from Rača, Milica Veljković, read six requests that will be handed over to the President of the Municipality of Rača, Branko Radosavljević, tomorrow.

We demand that everyone who participated in the renovation of Karađorđe elementary school be held accountable, that the investor, the president of the municipality of Rača, file a criminal complaint against the contractor and the supervisory authority, that the safety of all public facilities, especially those where children stay, be investigated and the public be informed about this, said Milica Veljković.

She emphasized that at the same time, the resignation of certain members of the Municipal Council is also requested and yes
The Prosecutor's Office will examine the implementation of public procurement and the spending of funds for the renovation of the school and the circumstances under which the value of the works has been increased many times over.
