President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić he stated that he would presidential elections in Serbia to be held at the end of December this year at the earliest, and at the beginning of February 2027 at the latest.
"It is logical - if they are parliamentary in October, it is possible for them to be presidential from the end of December to the beginning of January, and if they are in November (parliamentary), then it will certainly be in January, or maybe at the beginning of February at the latest," Vučić told Prva television.
He previously announced that he plans to be a candidate for prime minister in the parliamentary elections, which he says could be held in October or November, and that he will resign from the post of president by then.
Vučić several times announced different dates for holding elections - both presidential and parliamentary.
First, he said that he would first be the president and then the parliamentarian, that is, that he would resign. He, as well as the opposition, commented on the merger of the presidential and parliamentary elections. Then he "separated" the presidential and parliamentary terms and changed the deadlines.
He announced the parliamentary elections for July, and then for October, November... As for the presidential elections, in his last interview with the Financial Times, he said that the presidential elections "will be held until the beginning of December", and now he mentions the end of December 2026, but also February 2026.
Vučić: Students copy SNS
Vučić also says that the students in the blockade are now carrying out actions that were previously carried out by the Serbian Progressive Party, which was previously criticized by a part of the public, as well as that call centers and the counting of safe votes are normal party activities.
"Look at how far that hypocrisy goes, as if they were trying out all the theories of insanity on us. 'A student is calling', so today it is normal for them to call even outside the campaign, what they told us to disturb, and now they will disturb. It is a student action for these grandparents who are on their list. They told us that we must not work door to door, and then you have a 'Student in every village'. They go door to door. Why did you lie and mislead the public?" said Vucic for TV Prva.
He said that in Kladovo, where the local elections were held in March, the party rented space in a hotel for a call center and for the counting of safe votes and assessed it as a "normal party activity".
"I wonder if these people are crazy and normal. Those people were doing their job, the usual electoral work, like in every country in the world. That was normal for us until a year and a half, two years ago. We all did it since 1995, when we learned something about politics. No one passed it on to anyone. Suddenly, in the era of revolution, a lot of money was thrown in, you can use the power of your media and social networks to declare what is normal abnormal," said Vučić.
He said that it was important that the elections be held and that it was "very possible" that the SNS would lose, but that they would definitely count the votes.
"On the same evening, I will say that the worst came to power and I will laugh in their faces all the time, both from detention and from prison, and from the grave defiantly and proudly, I said this metaphorically, because they do not understand that someone fought with all his heart, his ideals, that he invested everything in his life for this country to progress," said Vučić.
