EXPO must be reviewed by an independent commission as soon as possible and establish the extent to which these facilities are safe for use, said Vladimir Obradović, a professor at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Belgrade.

Professor at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Belgrade Vladimir Obradovic appealed today for the formation of an independent commission that will "as soon as possible" review and establish the extent to which the buildings built for the international exhibition are safe for use. EXPO 2027, which should be held in May in Serbia.

"We have a file here about something that tragically happened, but we have a lot of projects. Look at the Expo now, for example, where last week we had the CINS that announced that there were 270 failures at one facility. We must, on the one hand, urgently deal intensively as a society with what happened, but on the other hand, based on these lessons learned, to stop it, and do our best to prevent such things from happening again. That Expo must be reviewed by an independent commission as soon as possible and established in to what extent are these facilities safe for use," Obradović told N1 television, as reported by Beta.

Obradović, who is also the president of the International Organization for Project Management IPMA, together with Professor Ognjen Radonjić, presented on N1 the findings of the Survey Commission, which were presented in the book "Canopy files - from the envelope to the grave", stating that during the research, key political actors and decision-making chains related to the reconstruction of the Railway Station in Novi Sad were identified.

They believe that the tragedy in which 16 people died was the result of corruption and crime, and they say that the prosecutor's office has no reason to delay the investigation.

"If the competent prosecution did not have the documentation, and it did, they have everything in the book... Now there is no reason to avoid and delay. Everything is packed both narratively and with the associated documentation. The book is not an indictment, it is not a verdict, it is a set of texts and documents that should indicate what happened, and it is up to the prosecution and the courts to deal with it," he said.

Speaking about the latest developments in the judiciary, Obradović assessed that "Vučić's side is in a panic."

"They don't know where they are, what to do, whether to move out, to run away. I assume that they are extracting money, that they are going to sell real estate, different people are making different moves, resigning, not resigning..." he said.

Obradović assessed that the former president's statement about the self-organization of supporters of the Serbian Progressive Party is something for which he should be immediately detained.

"People are being detained for tweets. They should call him to explain how he thinks he is destroying the constitutional order by self-organization. He is trying to keep his party, I can't really consider it a party, it is an organized criminal interest group. They were not connected by ideology, they were connected by simple corrupt crime, and now that it is their turn to answer, some will try to defect, some will try to escape. Vučić is trying to condense it, that is senseless, I think the judiciary should start working", says Obradović.
