Official of the Socialist Party of Serbia and former minister Branko Ruzic he said that he welcomes the statement of the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić that there will be no construction in Deliblatska peščara and that the state will restore the ecosystem.
Ružić believes that such a statement should be understood as an obligation of the state towards citizens and future generations.
He is, responding to Vučić's criticisms, told Fonet that he would not reciprocate with the same vocabulary.
"I will not comment on personal qualifications using the same vocabulary," Ružić said, adding that the results of his work in different governments are public and verifiable.
Ružić stated the results of his work
Speaking about his political work, the former minister singled out the opening of accession negotiations with the European Union, the reform of the state administration and the National Academy for State Administration, as well as the digitization of civil registers and the Central Population Register.
Among the results he mentioned are the Education Development Strategy until 2030, the National Qualifications Framework, the Law on Student Organizations, digital classrooms, as well as the construction of dozens of kindergartens, cultural centers, markets, cinemas and assembly halls.
Ružić pointed out that he considers the "step towards responsibility" one of his greatest personal and political achievements.
"A step towards responsibility - political, parental and personal", he stated.
He added that in the current situation, personal political conflict should not be in the foreground.
"Now neither Vučić nor Ružić are the most important, but Deliblatska Peščara," said Ružić.
"What caused the fire?"
Ružić repeated the questions he asked after the big fire in Deliblatska peščara - what caused the fire, where were the initial hot spots, whether there was a human factor and what was the extent of the damage caused.
"That's why simple questions remain: what caused the fire, where were the initial hotspots, was there a human factor, what is the scale of the damage and what plan will each hectare of the protected area be restored and saved from conversion," said Ružić.
He believes that Vučić's promise that there will be no construction in that area should not remain just a political message.
"If there is agreement that there will be no construction and conversion, that should not be limited to a political statement, but that the Government should guarantee it with appropriate decisions and a public plan for the reconstruction of Deliblatska peščara," said Ružić.
According to him, it is especially important to institutionalize such protection.
"I am especially pleased by the fact that the president indirectly confirmed with his statement that this protection will be institutionalized with a multi-decade moratorium on the construction of industrial and energy facilities in Deliblatska Peščara," said Ružić.
Vučić: "I always had only money and business plans in my head"
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, previously criticized Ružić in Leskovac, claiming that money and jobs were the most important things to him during his political career.
"Both that party and he himself always only had money and business plans in his head. He never dealt with anything, the whole trace in everything he did was always petty theft, petty tender and nothing more than that," said Vučić.
Vučić added that, as he stated, tenders were important to Ružić and that something ends up "in his pocket".
Ružić, however, rejected the need to respond to such accusations with the same kind of qualifications and returned the focus to the question of the future of Deliblatska peščara.
