Serbian Radio and Television earned a total of 2024 billion dinars in 15,7, but expenses were higher than that amount, so the public media service still ended the year with a loss of 310,3 million dinars.
In 2024, RTS had business expenses of more than 15,87 billion dinars. When financial expenses of 70,2 million dinars, expenses from adjustment of the value of financial assets of 391.000 dinars and other expenses of 54,37 million dinars are added to that, the total expenses in 2024 are almost 16 billion dinars, writes N1.
Radio and Television of Serbia at the end of 2024, it recorded a net loss of 310.301.000 dinars, which is a decrease compared to the loss of 423,5 million dinars from 2023.
Costs of materials, fuel and energy
In 2024, RTS had 90,77 million dinars in basic material costs, 52,87 million dinars in overhead material costs, 76,66 million dinars in spare parts costs, and 49,75 million dinars in tool and inventory costs.
Fuel costs were recorded in the amount of 50 million dinars, while electricity costs were 279,3 million dinars.
How much they earned and how much they spent
The costs of gross wages and salary compensation amounted to more than four billion dinars, more precisely 4.642.756.000 dinars.
Let us recall that, according to official data, RTS had 2024 employees in 2.428.
703 million dinars were paid in the name of taxes and contributions at the expense of the employer for one year, while the cost of compensation under copyright contracts, work contracts and royalties was 567,93 million dinars.
128,9 million dinars were set aside for temporary and occasional jobs, and compensation for employees' expenses for transportation to work was 61,47 million dinars.
43,52 million dinars were set aside for per diems and official travel expenses in the country (a decrease compared to 2023, when 48,3 million dinars were spent for this purpose).
On the other hand, per diems and expenses for official travel abroad cost the RTS 105,25 million dinars, compared to 71,84 million dinars recorded the year before.
The members of the Management Board were paid 19,25 million dinars, while the fees for the members of the Program Committee were nine million dinars.
Rental costs from natural persons amounted to 1,8 million dinars.
Transportation, internet and games
Last year, RTS paid 58,26 million dinars for the costs of transport services, PTT and internet.
The costs of maintenance services were more than 190 million dinars, and the rent and fair fees were 53,87 million dinars.
73,84 million dinars were spent on advertising, advertising and propaganda (in 2023, this amount was 64,67 million dinars).
A significant item among these costs is the cost of purchased rights: last year, RTS paid more than 2,7 billion dinars (2.712.190.000 dinars) for showing sports broadcasts.
"During 2024, the most significant sports events to which the mentioned expense refers are: installments for the Summer Olympic Games 2024, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA League Conference, unilateral services for the transmission of the European Championship in football," it is stated in the Notes to the financial reports of RTS for the year 2024.
49,53 million dinars were paid for the showing of another television program.
The costs of providing technical services by JP ETV were 228,7 million dinars, while the costs of license rights for films up to one year amounted to 406,79 million dinars.
The costs of the services of other organizations for filming movies/shows were 647,47 million dinars, while the costs of transmitting satellite programs amounted to 107,2 million dinars.
The costs of programs and TV services from abroad were 36,67 million dinars.
139 million dinars were paid for asset custody services, while fees to EPS are for collection services TAX for the public media service amounted to 403 million dinars. Namely, Elektroprivreda Srbije invoices RTS a fee of three percent of the amount of total billing per meter, which amounts to the aforementioned 403.419.000 dinars.
"The costs of the purchased rights to show sports broadcasts and other television programs refer to the purchased rights of showing that last up to one year, in accordance with the contracts. The costs of rents and fairs refer, for the most part, to periodic leases of audio-visual equipment for recording and broadcasting content outside the studio, as well as periodic leases of studios and other types of space," it is stated in the Notes to the RTS financial reports for 2024.
Awards and severance pay
Almost two billion dinars (1,9 billion) were paid for total depreciation costs, and last year RTS paid 198,36 million dinars for jubilee awards, and 70,9 million dinars for severance pay for retirement.
Among the intangible costs, which amount to 1,2 billion dinars, the largest costs are royalties to SOKOJ of 329,9 million dinars. This is followed by the costs of programming services in the amount of 214 million dinars, and the costs of maintenance and cleaning of the premises in the amount of 113,6 million dinars.
74,96 million dinars were paid for the services of marketing agencies.
