They have the right, private televisions, they can do what they want. Imagine, yesterday they were reporting from Nis, some imbecile from the Nis Correspondence Office, who flattered and arranged with the protesters how to allegedly steal his property, since his father left him state property, so that he would support them, apparently and I don't know what. Students reacted to this comment.
"We received a video in which a person holding the office of the president of the state makes an insulting comment about the RTS correspondent, calling her an 'imbecile.' The above-mentioned person made the wrong person, so she thought it was a correspondent, but in fact it is correspondent Lidija Georgijev, RTS journalist," announced the University Working Group for Media and Communication in Nis.
Such a statement did not surprise them at all, but it did hit them, the students added.
"We strongly condemn and wish to express our strong support for Lidia, as well as for all journalists who, despite the challenges, perform their work conscientiously, responsibly and in accordance with the ethical code of Serbian journalists", the students state.
In the announcement, they point out that "Radio Television of Serbia is a public media service for all citizens of the Republic of Serbia, not the private television of politicians in power."

"No holder of a public office, regardless of which political option he belongs to, has the right to speak about our colleagues in such an insulting way," said RTS.
It is added that RTS is the only media house, "which, despite all its weaknesses, tries to maintain the spirit of tolerance in its program and start some kind of dialogue between opposing political parties."
"That's why we demand from all public office holders to respect our journalists and the house that strives to preserve the spirit of normality and decency in society," announced RTS.
UNS and SINOS: Vučić has no right to insult journalists, he should apologize
The Association of Journalists of Serbia and the Union of Journalists of Serbia consider the statement of President Aleksandar Vučić in which he called the RTS correspondent from Niš and the reporter from the student protests from that city an "imbecile", unbecoming of any holder of public office, especially the president of the state, UNS announced.
UNS and SINOS ask President Vučić to apologize to the journalist of the Public Service.
"UNS and SINOS assume that the president does not like the RTS report from Nis, but that does not give him the right to insult the journalist." The president should know that in accordance with the Law on Public Information and Media, journalists are obliged to inform the public truthfully, timely and comprehensively about all events of public interest and not to be subject to blackmail and pressure wherever they come from," the statement reads.
According to the same Law, they add, no one has the right to insult, disparage journalists or in any way hinder them in their professional work.
The public service read the statement of UNS and SINOS in the newspaper after midnight, and on the website it only reported the statement of Aleksandar Vučić in the blog. However, specifically, RTS did not comment on anything.
