The Republic of Serbia has a total of 6.647.003 citizens, according to the results of the 2022 census published by the Republic's Statistical Office. Compared to the 2011 census, when there were 7.186.862 citizens in Serbia, now there are 539.859 fewer of us.
There are 3.415.025 women, or 51,38 percent, while the number of men is 3.231.978, or 48.62 percent.
The institute also published data on the nationality of the residents.
According to the results of the census, there are 61.687 Albanians and 153.801 Bosniaks.
There are 12.918 Bulgarians, and 11.104 Bunjevacs.
There are 21.013 Vlachs, 7.700 Gorani. 27.143 declared that they were Yugoslavs.
There were 184.442 Hungarians in the census, making them the most numerous national minority in Serbia, and 14.767 Macedonians.
The Republic Institute of Statistics also stated that 13.011 citizens declared that they were Muslims by nationality.
There are 2.573 Germans and 131.936 Roma.
There are 23.044 Romanians, 10.486 Russians, and 11.483 Russians.
There are 41.730 Slovaks, 2.829 Slovenians, and 3.969 Ukrainians.
There were 39.107 Croats and 20.238 Montenegrins in the census.
11.929 of those who declared their regional affiliation, while 136.198 citizens did not declare their national affiliation.
322.013 citizens were listed as "unknown".
