Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenkovic he rejected the claims Aleksandar Vučić that this country is interfering in upcoming elections in Serbia, judging that it was an attempt to create an image of Croatia as an enemy.
He called the note of protest that Belgrade sent to Zagreb because of the writings of the Croatian media ridiculous and senseless.
Plenković stated in Brussels that accusations of Croatian interference in the Serbian election campaign have been repeated for a long time and assessed that it is a political spin that presents Croatia as a "half-external and half-internal enemy", reported FoNet.
Reacting to Vučić's claim that no country has ever interfered so intensively and brutally in the elections of another country as Croatia has in the upcoming elections in Serbia, the Croatian Prime Minister rejected such allegations as completely meaningless.

Referring to Belgrade's note of protest over the Croatian media's coverage of Vučić and the upcoming parliamentary elections, Plenković said that in Croatia "the media is free, people write what they want and think".
He said that Croatia is not participating in the election campaign in Serbia and that the Serbian authorities should deal with their own citizens and political processes, instead of sending, as he said, ridiculous protest notes to Zagreb.
Plenković added that he did not notice anything particularly controversial in the texts that caused Serbia to react and rejected the assumption that the Croatian authorities manage the editorial policy of the media there. He stated that he had read the protest note, but that it was not clear to him on what basis Croatia was accused.
The Croatian Prime Minister also assessed that the whole matter should not be given too much importance. He made the statements in Brussels, where he is participating in the summit of the European People's Party, the informal meeting of Friends of Cohesion and the summit of the European Union.
