Milorad Grcic, still the acting director of the Electric Industry of Serbia, personally attended the ceremonial arrival of the coal tailings disposer more than four years ago in Kolubar and called it "one of the miracles". The miracle miraculously disappeared in last night's fire, and individuals speculate that the problem is not that the machine caught fire, because it happens, but that there is a well-founded suspicion that the procedure was not followed and an access fire road was made in case of such an accident. Because of this, the firefighters could not approach the dumper.
Dragoslav Ljubičić, a TENT worker and member of the main board of the city's mining and energy trade union within the "Nezavisnost" trade union, told "Vreme" that the destruction of this dumper "reduced the tailings disposal capacity by 50 percent." Tailings are the mixture that is dug up to get coal. He adds that this damage will not be reflected immediately, because there are reserve reserves of coal, but "will be paid for in the future".
Tomorrow, the temperature is expected to drop to 12 degrees below zero, and the snow will probably last for a few more days. During the snowfall in the first half of December, there was a general breakdown and the shutdown of all six blocks of TENT, which produce almost half of the electricity in Serbia.
The interlocutor of "Vremena" explains that at that time the problem arose due to the delivery of very bad coal from the mines, as well as the lack of fuel oil, which is used for igniting coal dust. He believes that the quality of coal is now being taken care of, as well as that sufficient quantities of fuel oil have been procured. He also adds that low temperatures do not create a problem so much for coal mining and the thermal power plant itself, but for transportation because the coal freezes and sticks to the walls of the wagons.
Although it was announced after the first accident that Grcic would be removed from the position of acting director of EPS, it still did not happen. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučič then said that Mića would leave in a few days as soon as he "fixes things". The excesses continue, and how many of them he managed remains to be seen.
Ljubičić also says that all these accidents occurred for different reasons, but also that they show the citizens that there are unprofessional people in the leadership and that party recruitment is still in force.
