KRIK editor Stevan Dojčinović, who is followed in detail the court process against the former state secretary in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Dijana Hrkalović, stated for "Vreme" that "the verdict that was handed down to her was expected, and that it is basically irrelevant - because from the very beginning, from the time she was accused, it was clear that they wanted her to go as lightly as possible."
He reminded that at the time when she was first accused by the top authorities and the tabloids, Hrkalović was labeled as a member of a criminal group and that she was involved in a series of murders.
"But in such an atmosphere she was essentially accused of very small, minor crimes." And those accusations didn't really expose her role in the criminal clan, but rather it was as if someone chose the smallest things they could accuse her of, just to calm the public down. And then she changed lawyers, who were considered oppositional, and hired SNS official Vladimir Đukanović to represent her. This was interpreted as saying that she made some kind of agreement with the authorities, so the whole case against her was reduced to some small things," Dojčinović states.

"From the very beginning of the process, it was clear that he would get away with it"
He assesses that the indictment against her is "contradictory and meaningless", so that is all the more reason for this verdict.
"That's why it was clear from the very beginning of the process against her that she would get away with it," adds the editor of KRIK and notes that Hrkalović has already sued him and KRIK for published texts about her.
Due to this, Dijana Hrkalović also sued the weekly "Vreme".
Dojčinović presents that KRIK published a document about her, in which it can be seen that the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime fundamentally suspected that she was part of a wider criminal group, together with the Blacksmith and Witchcraft clan.
"It was suspected that she was part of that team and that she participated in various activities that included some murders, and readers can read about this in detail on the KRIK website. However, the same prosecutor's office only charged minor matters in the end. In the course of the process, the authorities asked France to hand over its 'Sky' messages. However, the indictment against her definitely does not mention those messages, and it seems that the prosecution had much greater and deeper knowledge about her," states the interlocutor of "Vremena".
She underlines that this is a very complicated case and that the process against her has been going on for years.
"The point is that there is evidence that we published, which shows that she is involved in the business of criminal groups, but it did not end up in the indictment," Dojčinović states.

A turning point in the procedure was the hiring of Đukanović
Dojčinović sees the decision to hire Vladimir Đukanović as a lawyer as a crucial factor in her process. Since then, she has become an ardent supporter of President Aleksandar Vučić and a fierce critic of the Serbian opposition and appears in all possible pro-regime media.
"From the moment Đukanović took over, she has been singing the praises of Vučić, so she has practically become a SNS party bot. It was then clear that the entire proceedings against her had no essential significance. Those certain facts that did not end up in the proceedings probably have control over it. And the whole process against her, the whole case was decided back then," concludes Dojčinović.
