The documentary "Savamala: A Decade of Violence" consists of three units that follow the development of this case over time. The first part, through the testimonies of people who happened to be in Savamala that night, recalls the event itself, which she worked for N1 immediately after the demolition Jelena Zoric, current journalist of "Vremen" and BIRN.
The second part consists of the testimonies he collected in 2019 Radoslav Cebic Ceba, director and documentary maker of "Time", who seven years ago started his work on a documentary film about the demolition in Savamala and unfortunately did not finish it because he tragically passed away.
"There is also part of the material he recorded and the interlocutors he spoke with in 2019. An important part of the film is the one collected by journalists, above all Jelena Zorić, who spoke to witnesses a few days after the demolition," Nova journalist Jelena Kikić stated for N1.
The then Protector of Citizens Saša Janković and his associate Miloš Janković, Rodoljub Šabić - the then Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Savamalac, the then editor of BIRN and journalist of "Vremena" spoke about the established omissions, illegalities, causes and consequences. Slobodan Georgiev and retired professor of the Faculty of Architecture and Geography, Ksenija Petovar.
The third part brings today's perspective through the interpretations of KRIK journalist Bojana Jovanović, lawyer Vladica Ilić from the Belgrade Center for Human Rights - then an advisor in the professional service of the Protector of Citizens, Marko Aksentijević from the Ministry of Space collective - then an activist of Ne davimo Beograd, as well as Dobrica Veselinović, who was also in that initiative in 2016, and today is an MP of the Green-Left Front.
Nobody expected this.
Remembering the year 2016, Kikičeva says that this was a shocking event, but it was absolutely expected that the case would be solved and that there would be a judicial epilogue and punishment for the perpetrators.
"I admit, I was absolutely mistaken. Not that it didn't stop, but it was the seed from which sprouted everything that follows us to this day. Unidentified persons, in the middle of the night, without a permit, without a legal basis, with the support of the institutions... It should have been resolved within 15 days," she added.
The citizens of Belgrade were then confronted for the first time with the fact that you can call the police for help, but they don't come, says the journalist.
