In Zagreb, the regional cultural platform Kooperativa celebrates the Yugoslav Republic Day
Today, November 29, when the Republic Day was celebrated in Yugoslavia, the exhibition "Archives of friendship - poetics of resistance" will be opened in Zagreb. The exhibition opens in the SKD Prosvjeta gallery, and is organized by Kooperativa — a regional platform for culture.
"Archives of friendship - poetics of resistance" is a kind of reflection of togetherness on the occasion of ten years of existence of the Kooperativa network, which gathers more than 30 organizations and collectives from independent cultural scenes in the region. Its motive is sketching a possible map of movement through shared experience, work and scene production.
The authors of the exhibition, Milica Pekić and Iskra Gešoska, wondered which roads and roadside signs create the possibility for new perspectives of the already displaced meanings of freedom, democracy, autonomous zone. At the exhibition, they presented part of the rich archive of the Cooperative and its members, active in all areas of contemporary culture and art - photos, texts about organizations and programs, reflections on topics of common interest and video interviews.
"Without the pretension of creating a stable historical narrative, with the contributions and thoughts of member organizations, artists who actively changed us with their work, we put together a possible collage of experience created by mutual influences. We have embarked on a project of reflection with an uncertain outcome", stated the authors of the exhibition, Milica Pekić and Iskra Gešoska.
