At the press conference, Jovanović assessed that the government is trying to "implement Belgrade on Water 2" in an attractive location.
The leader of the Ecological Uprising, Aleksandar Jovanović Ćuta, accused Goran Vesić of signing a memorandum on behalf of the Government of Serbia giving the location of the bombed General Staff in the center of Belgrade to the American offshore firms "Kushner Realty" and "Atlantic Incubation Partners" LLC, reports portal N1.
At the press conference, he explained how the Ecological Uprising received a copy of the aforementioned memorandum of understanding from the Ministry of Defense, which received the document on February 9.
"It is about the revitalization and, as it says here, the development of the location of the General Staff, which the Government of the Republic of Serbia and its authorized representative, the Minister of Construction in the technical mandate Goran Vesić, intend to revitalize and refine with the company 'Kushner'," said Jovanović.
He pointed out that the company "Kushner Realty" was registered on March 8, 2022, in the US state of Delaware, which is known as an offshore zone. As he pointed out, the company is registered at the address of Jonathan Kushner, a relative of Jared Kushner, son-in-law of former US President Donald Trump.
"The Government of the Republic of Serbia authorizes Goran Vesić to draw up a memorandum of understanding, to build something they call development and revitalization on this location, to allow the company Kushner and this sister company to enter into a lease for 99 years on the location in question free of charge, that after 99 years that mentioned company could become the owner of the location in question. "Beograd on the water 2" is in the works, Jovanović said.

He reminded that the General Staff complex was declared a cultural monument in 2005, and called on the Government of Serbia to publish all documentation related to this arrangement without delay.
Lawyer Danijela Nestorović assessed that it is a "shocking" document that was "signed who knows when".
"By the decision of December 1, 2022, the Government authorizes Goran Vesić to conclude such a memorandum, which is unavailable on the website of the Government of the Republic of Serbia. We don't know what is written in that memorandum of understanding," said Nestorovic, emphasizing that it would be inappropriate to build a hotel or a residential-business complex on the site of the bombed buildings.
Nestorović explained that it is practically a matter of "gifting" two cadastral plots on which the General Staff complex is located: 804/2 and 969/1, in the Savski Venac Cadastral Municipality.
