U Moscow a large Victory Parade is held in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism in The Second World War. This great event will be attended by numerous world officials, including the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.
Together with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, the parade will be attended by guests from all over the world, including the President of China Xi Jinping, the President of Brazil Lula da Silva, the presidents of Venezuela, Cuba, Egypt and other countries. Despite the protests of European Union officials, the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, and the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, came to the Russian capital.
The presence of foreign leaders at the parade is first of all a sign of respect for the fallen heroes and the huge contribution of the USSR to the victory, because the losses among Soviet citizens amounted to almost 27 million people.
11.000 soldiers are expected to participate in the parade, special security measures on Red Square
Preparations for the Victory Parade in Moscow began back in April, and 11.000 soldiers are expected to parade through Red Square.
Moscow has been celebrating Victory Day for days, the streets are decorated with flags, and the very area where the parade is held has been under special security measures for the past few days.
Access to the Red Square is denied even to journalists, and the very approach to the press center is very rigorous.
