Time for the left, as a socially oriented option, to return to its strength. This is not a matter of political fad or momentary interest, but a fundamental need to correct the injustices of predatory capitalism, chauvinistic and autocratic policies that treat citizens as enemies and big capital as slaves.
...Assistant Professor Radivoje Jovović, PhD
We live in a society where freedom, equality and dignity are enshrined in law, but have long been dead letters. A privileged minority accumulates wealth and power, while the majority find it increasingly difficult to turn their work and time into a dignified life. It is no wonder that grandmothers and mothers send their children abroad with sadness and that it has become almost a given.
Work must not be a struggle for survival. Education must not be a privilege, housing must not be a luxury. Democracy must be a way of life and dignity must be taken for granted.
That is why we founded the Initiative for Democratic Socialism (IDS), because society can and must be different. Man must be more important than profit, public good than private benefit, and solidarity stronger than the logic according to which everyone is left to himself, like a beast inside a morbid system that never gave him a chance. Essential democracy means a society of materially and socially secure people, to whom education, healthcare and public services are available by default, because only from this security are born the time and opportunity to deal with our street, city, village and our dreams.
SLOBODA, EQUALITY, SOLIDARNOOST
IDS is the result of the awareness that it is time for the left, as a socially oriented option, to return to its strength. This is not a matter of political fad or momentary interest, but a fundamental need to correct the injustices of predatory capitalism, chauvinistic and autocratic politics that treat citizens as enemies and big capital as slaves.
It is time for workers of all types of work - physical, service, intellectual, professional - to regain the dignity they deserve. That farmers, entrepreneurs and the self-employed regain security and stop looking over their shoulders in anticipation of a new blow from the corrupt government and companies close to it, which do not respect the laws and even less the people, as the tragedy with the carport in Novi Sad unequivocally demonstrated. It is time for the state to finally start taking care of the socially vulnerable, instead of knowingly keeping them in that status for endless exploitation.
IDS is the fruit of friendships and community built through numerous struggles for justice. We, the former members of the informal civic group Borba is an Obligation, have known the work and activities of the Solidarity Political Platform and its brave people for years. We fought numerous battles together, we have always been close in terms of values and ideology, but also as people; the members of Solidarity are from that rarer group of people in politics who possess serious knowledge and expertise, who keep their word and understand what solidarity and togetherness - for which the right left is fighting - are. That is why together we will build a left force of strong cohesion, work engagement and excellent professional and conceptual solutions.
IDS is an umbrella for all who want to fight for labor and trade union rights, social justice, democracy, regionalization and decentralization, the rule of law, anti-fascism, civil and secular society, and for the preservation of public goods, nature and the environment. Our basic values are freedom, equality, solidarity.
AT THE SERVICE OF VICTORY LIST NUMBER 3
Our first political decision stemmed from those values: the Declaration on Support for the Student Movement and the "Student List - Students Win" electoral list. The students showed their readiness for a decisive struggle and the ability to carry it out to the end, starting a movement that has long since grown into a general civil movement. The autonomy of the student movement is its greatest strength, and it is our duty to preserve and protect it with all available and legitimate means. Therefore, IDS from the first moment put itself at the service of the victory of the list under number 3.
After the liberation of the institutions, before us is the construction of a society in which justice will be available to everyone, work will once again mean security, and the state will serve everyone, not a privileged minority of criminals. This means restoring institutions, stronger labor and trade union rights, accessible education and healthcare, the right to a safe home, nature protection - and conditions in which everyone can participate in deciding their own life. We are not only fighting to replace those who usurped power for 14 years - we are fighting to change the relationships that made such power possible, and the consciousness of the people who lost self-respect in the continuous struggle to provide the most basic things for themselves and their families.
Freedom without security means nothing, and democracy without equal opportunities eventually becomes its opposite. We have a twofold task: to liberate society and build it on a more just basis. This is the only way we will fight for the dignity we deserve - dignity for all of us.

How solvent is the Security and Information Agency? Is Serbia condemned to the saying that "everything passes, but only the Service remains"? And that's what the director of Bija, Vladimir Orlić, is bragging about
I can say that we have a rare opportunity to watch on television the epic fall of a regime and media that believed they were unsinkable and invincible. After that, I expect an equally interesting continuation of the program from the Student list, in which we will see how the flyers are vetted
After the election, the international rating agency Fitch Ratings gave the new reality in Serbia an initial loan, but not a blank check. It was established that Serbia has a rating with positive prospects for improvement, supported by macroeconomic stability, as well as solid protection mechanisms. At the same time, the agency emphasized that the economic and fiscal priorities of the new government are not yet clear enough and that the assessment of its economic program will be important for the future development of the rating. Therefore, the attitude towards fiscal discipline, macroeconomic stability, public investments and the continuity of the technocratic character will be much more important than post-election rhetoric.
How the movement that started in the colleges gathered the majority of the country, won the trust of the voters who voted for minority parties for years and reached the villages where until recently the opposition barely managed to form a polling committee
National councils must neither be the political prey of the previous government nor subject to the distribution of influence of the new one. Their right to self-government belongs to minority communities. That is why the reform must not be postponed until the next regular election cycle

The Christian Democrats have fallen below twenty percent of support at the federal level, the far-right Alternative for Germany has long been by far the most popular party, but no one is vying for the position of president of the "black-red" coalition government. This is not surprising in the conditions of increasingly expensive fuel, weak economic growth and the endless war in Ukraine, when painful reforms need to be implemented.
