Nikola Lazetić's plan to take over the leadership of the Alliance failed after the defeat of the SNS in the parliamentary elections
Electoral Assembly Football Association of Serbia (FSS), scheduled for November 14, will most likely be postponed because there are currently no candidates for the position of president, writes Sport club.
The deadline for submitting candidacies for FSS president expires on October 31. However, according to the Sport Club, no applications have been received by the Association so far, which means that the leadership will most likely not be elected even in the fourth attempt.
Nikola Lazetić planned to run for FSS president in case of victory Serbian Progressive Party in the parliamentary elections. However, that plan backfired after the victory of the Student List, writes Sport club.
According to this portal, the session of the FSS Assembly where Lazetić would be a candidate would certainly not have a quorum, because many delegates would not participate in the election process.
Lazetić also faces other problems. A request for resignation from the position of president of the Football Association of Belgrade was sent against him. The General Secretary of the Obrenovac Football Association, Nenad Stanojević, requested his departure, justifying the request by the way he came to office and his behavior during his mandate.
Stanojević claims that Lazetić got to that position thanks to political influence, which is a violation of the statutes of domestic, European and world football.
Lazetić denied the allegations and said that he is open to cooperation with the competent state authorities.
The question arises as to how the FSS will function without a complete administration, bearing in mind that the election of the president has already been postponed three times.
One of the short-term solutions could be the introduction of temporary measures. The most radical scenario would be forced administration introduced by UEFA, Sport Club writes.
