Cultural Center Grad continues the good practice of presenting the literature of countries from war zones.
On Thursday, writers Lana Bastašić, Marija Dragnić, Anđela Đokić, Maša Seničić and Selma Asotić will read Palestinian poetry in a poetic dialogue. This event, called "Our country", is realized within the residency for writers organized by the City Cultural Center in partnership with the literary network "Traduki".
Admission is free, and the event is of a humanitarian nature in cooperation with "For a Free Palestine".
Ten days ago, it was held in KC Grad reading the dramatic text "Finist, bisti soko" in solidarity with the authors of the play, Svetlana Petrijchuk and Zhenya Berkovich, who are in prison. They were sentenced to six years for writing about Russian women who married members of radical Islamist groups "at a distance" and went to Syria to join them.
One of the writers who will present Palestinian poetry, Lana Bastašić, terminated cooperation with her publishing house in Germany at the beginning of the year, thus joining the global strike of artists against cultural institutions.
"It was logical for me not to issue invoices whose taxes finance the bombs falling on Gaza," said Lana Bastašić.
