In the Museum of the Nineties, the exhibition of logos and visual identities of Yugoslavia "Yugo.logo" returns to the time when design shaped everyday life
Museum of the nineties in Belgrade, presents from April 18 an exhibition of selected logos and visual identities created on the territory of Yugoslavia. The authors of the project, graphic designers Ognjen Ranković and Antonio Karača, have been systematically collecting and researching this material for years, united under the name "Yugo.logo".
The exhibition "Yugo.logo: Roadside Signs" brings part of their extensive collection and directs attention to the time when graphic design played an important role in shaping public space, industrial production and everyday visual culture.
The presented logos are not only traces of former companies, cultural institutions and brands, but also evidence of a wider system of values, aesthetic norms and social aspirations.
The special value of the Yugo.logo project is reflected in its documentary dimension.
After the breakup of Yugoslavia, a large part of the tangible and intangible heritage related to industry and applied art remained neglected, fragmented or lost. In this context, the collection, systematization and public presentation of this material represent an important act of cultural revalorization, it was stated in the announcement of the exhibition.
The title of the exhibition "Roadside Signs" additionally directs the reading of that material towards symbols that were part of everyday life for decades, and today survive as visual traces of a social and economic system, but also of common cultural heritage.
The exhibition will be open until May 19, and the entrance fee is 300 dinars, in support of the work of the Museum of the Nineties.

There is, literally, no difference between the one who claims it is day in the middle of the night, or the one who claims to be a giraffe, from the claims we read on billboards: that Vučić is working to unify Serbs and that Serbia is doing better and better day by day.
The pre-election arrests due to the alleged "overthrow of the state" testify to the regime's panic. The bad news for them is - they can't arrest the whole people who decided to defend themselves from progressive beatings and election theft
The ring that tightens around Ćaciland Student list is getting narrower. Because there are more and more spoiled people who see the false prophet for what he is: a street obscener who is fighting Serbia
