Drama Ensemble National Theatre made a statement regarding the incident that occurred on September 9, 2025, when the actress Dobrili Bobi Stojnic, the champion of Drama NP, was prevented from entering the theater building.
According to the ensemble, security prevented Stojnić from entering the dressing room and taking her things, addressing her with the words: "March outside, we'll call the police if you don't leave!" Such treatment, as pointed out, was brutal and humiliating, as if it were an intruder or a criminal, and not an artist who had been playing on the stage of the National Theater for decades.
"Even if she were to retire, the actors remain our lifelong colleagues and deserve respect both as citizens and as artists," the statement said.
The Drama Ensemble reminds that for many artists the theater is a "second home", a place of love, work, collegiality and life spent on stage, and that it must never become a place of persecution, violence and primitivism. "There are unwritten rules of behavior in the theater that imply decency and civility, not humiliation," he points out.
It was especially emphasized that Stojnić was asked for "written permission" to enter the dressing room, which the ensemble considers an absurd and unknown rule. "Until now, Ausweiss have never been required for artists and collaborators. What new rules are being introduced and where are they published?" the announcement asks.
the security, according to the allegations, behaved rudely and uncultured, which the ensemble describes as unacceptable. The announcement also mentions many famous names that have marked the history of the National Theatre, with the question: "Would Olivera Marković, Predrag Ejdus, Lane Gutović, Boris Komnenić or Petar Banićević be greeted with the words: 'March!'?"
The Drama Ensemble clearly says that it condemns the treatment of Dobrila Boba Stojnić and that it stands in solidarity with all artists whose dignity and rights are threatened.
