The Ministry of Construction extended the duration of the contract for expert supervision over the modernization of the Novi Sad - Subotica railway line, even though one of the companies from the consortium carried out supervision at the station where 16 people died
Ministry of Construction, traffic and infrastructure extended the duration of the contract on expert supervision of the works on the reconstruction and modernization of the railway Novi Sad - Subotica - state border until January 31, 2027. writes the New Economy.
This work is carried out by a consortium of companies Project biro Utiber, Utiber Road Investment, Ežis, Vikoti, AG Institute and entrepreneurial shop SDC Professional.
Ežis carried out immediate supervision at the Novi Sad Railway Station, where a concrete canopy collapsed on November 1 and killed 15 people.
The contract expired at the end of this month, and the changes are being made because the deadline for the works itself has been extended, according to the documentation published on the public procurement portal.
"Since it is extended deadline for the execution of works, which represents a circumstance that a conscientious client could not foresee and influence, it is also necessary to extend the deadline for the provision of expert supervision services," the notice on the amendment of the contract states.
The price of the job remains the same for now - 3.959.589.300 dinars, or about 33,8 million euros.
The Ministry of Construction made the initial decision on awarding the contract on January 19, 2022, and the value of the work at that time was RSD 3.659.000.000.
In the same year, the contract was amended so that the value of the work increased by 36.409.500 dinars, and "additional services and increased activities" were cited as the reason for the changes.
