Famous Plazma it will soon be back on the shelves, but on a reduced scale. A few months after the fire that happened in the fire factory, the company Bambi announced that it has resumed production of the famous biscuit in a reduced capacity.
"While we wait for Plasma to return in full volume and in all packaging, a little bit of patience and solidarity is still welcome." It is important to show that we are there for each other and to let a big heart that loves to share guide us," the company's official website states.
A third of the capacity
Production will continue on the only one of the three production lines that was not damaged by the fire.
"After the fire that engulfed our factory, we made part of the production capacity operational and continue the production of Plasma on a reduced scale. Those quantities will not be enough to cover the total demand, but in the coming weeks we can expect a gradual return of Plasma to the shelves. Quality remains our highest priority. We are also preparing a big surprise for those who have the least patience and who missed Plasma the most," said the general director of the Bambi company, Dragan Stajković, reports FoNet.
After the first phase, the long-term plan includes the launch of the remaining production lines, as well as continued investment in the construction and expansion of the factory's capacity, the company announced.
Empty shelves for weeks
The shortage of Plasma was caused by a fire that engulfed the production facility of the factory in Požarevac in June. Consequences were felt throughout Serbia. In the markets, on the shelves where until recently you could find the favorite biscuit of many, there was a red card with the words "All you need is a little bit of patience".
"I saw that there was no Plasma, but I did not know that it would not arrive soon." I'm sorry that I didn't buy at least two or three to have in stock until it arrives!", a woman from Belgrade told "Vreme" in August in a supermarket that we asked if she was a fan of this biscuit.
Classic Plasma has become extremely hard to find, while customers were not too interested in other "Bambi" products.
"We still have a lot of mini plasma, ie 'Plasma', but also chocolate Plasma. There are also Plasma Cubes. Although, people are used to the classic Plasma, so they rarely buy other products", the saleswoman Maxi on Palilula told "Vreme".
Generations grew up with Plasma
For many, "Bambi's" Plasma is more than a biscuit. Many generations grew up with her.
The brand appeared at the end of the 60s, thanks to Petar Tutavac, the general director of Bambi and one of the people who, among the first, as a good connoisseur of that craft in the confectionery industry, created brands such as the mentioned Plasma, then Domačica biscuits or Grandma's cake , writes N1.
He, staying in Italy, brought a type of technology for the production of the popular biscuit.
Tutavac died in 2022 at the age of 88.
