Must have for cigarettes! Tobacco products in Serbia they remain a guarantee of earnings, and excise taxes come in handy for the state in times of crisis.
Last year, four producers of tobacco products in Serbia had a combined revenue of 695,3 million euros, with a profit of 134,2 million, reports N1.
According to financial reports, Niš Philip Morris profited 52,6 million euros. JTI from Senta follows with 48 million, BAT from Vranje 32,7 million, and Monus from Zemun with a profit of just under one million euros.
Only that last company - the only domestically owned one - has a decline business income, but again net profit growth by a third.

Excise taxes are rising.
The state takes 97,47 dinars per pack of cigarettes in the name of excise duty, but it is Ministry of Finance published proposals for changes to the law according to which the excise tax will rise to 106,9 dinars next year.
According to the World Population Review, Serbia ranks seventh with 39,5 percent of smokers smoking "power" in the world.
