Two convicted in the smuggling investigation marijuana iz North Macedonia in Serbia, they stated in the plea agreements, published by the Criminal Court in Skopje, that eight tons of the drug were transported in five transport trips and explained how the smuggling took place - with cars and trucks that were bought or borrowed before the last transport in January.
It was, the defendants wrote in the confession, about the transport of an amount greater than eight tons, but it was not specified whether the total amount of smuggled cannabis was produced only in North Macedonia, writes the Beta agency, referring to TV Telma from North Macedonia.
"The first and second transports were last August, with over 2,2 tons of the amount missing from the measurements in the smuggling truck. In September and November, there was a difference in the weight of the trucks of 527 and 280 kilograms. The last transport was on January 13 of this year, and the prosecution in the agreement states over five tons of marijuana. In total, it is a quantity of 8 tons and 40 kilograms," it was specified.
"DS asked people on the phone to bring him a vehicle with a green card, and soon after, persons AR and SR arrived in a BMW motor vehicle. DS got into a truck loaded with narcotics drugs with the suspect AI and entered the Republic of Serbia at 11:57 p.m., and the other suspects continued to move in the Republic of Serbia in a BMW, supervising and ensuring the transportation of narcotics," stated the plea agreement between DS and AI
According to TV Telma, behind these initials, "there are people who pleaded guilty and reached a plea agreement: Dragan Stojanov from Kočani, who oversaw all transports either in trucks or cleaning cars, while Aleksandar Ivanovski was the driver of five smuggling transports".
Notaries also involved
In the confession, it was also stated that "narco-mullahs from North Macedonia charged 10.000 euros for each participation on several occasions."
By pleading guilty, the perpetrators were sentenced to prison terms of 3,5 years and three years and eight months, and to pay court costs, but the money obtained by crime was not confiscated. Both were transferred from the detention cells of the prison in Skopje's Šuto Orizari neighborhood to the department for serving sentences in the same prison in Skopje.
"Although there were five transports that, instead of cakes and pillows, transported marijuana produced in medical cannabis factories in North Macedonia, there is no information about whether the service members are being investigated and whether there were any failures in the work of the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Customs," stated the report of TV Telma.
Two notaries who certified the sale of the truck used in smuggling in January are also mentioned. It was resold twice to cover the tracks. The first time, as specified, was through the notary Panovska from Kočan the day after Christmas, and then in Skopje with the notary and former lawyer Nasser Ziberi, who certified the sale on January 10, a Saturday when data cannot be entered in notary books.
The vehicle from the notarial contracts was used to transport marijuana from Skopje to Sveti Nikola, where the drug replaced the Prilep pillows on the way to Serbia.
So far, a total of 13 suspects have been arrested in the investigation of the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime of North Macedonia for smuggling several tons of marijuana from North Macedonia to Serbia. The investigation continues.
One of the suspects is on the run, one is in custody in Kosovo, two are in prison with plea agreements, and the remaining nine are either in custody or in the hands of investigative authorities.
On the run is Serbian citizen Predrag Brković, one of the owners of the Skopje medical cannabis company "Alfafarm Group" and the only non-Macedonian citizen in that group of suspects.
