Director of RHMZ arrested
The Director of the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute was arrested on suspicion of having participated in money laundering in the amount of at least 650.000 euros.

"It is strange that the prosecutor does not deal with the question of who let people use the station, even though she did not have a license at that time, because if they had not been let in, no one would have died," says Forbes editor Ivan Radak.
It seems that no one is surprised that it is out of court Higher Court in Novi Sad suspended the criminal proceedings against Goran Vesić, Anita Dimoski, Jelena Tanasković, as well as against Milan Spremić, Marina Gavrilović and Dejan Todorović in the case of a falling canopy.
The editor of the Forbes portal Ivan Radak, who dealt in detail with the case of the canopy falling, told Danas that he was not surprised by the court's decision.
He says that the focus of the court's indictment was on determining the fault in the cables that held them canopy and corroded, which according to experts is the main cause of the fall of the canopy.
"In the indictment, the prosecution focused on that technical moment of the cause of the fall of the canopy. It is strange that the prosecutor does not deal at all with the question of who let people use the station, even though she did not have a use permit at that moment, because if they had not been let in, no one would have died. Whether the wires were corroded should have been determined at the beginning of the project and during the design of the works, where Vesić and Dimoski practically did not even participate. In essence, even Professor Spremić did not have a canopy in the project, so I it is logical that he is not on the indictment, as are the two people from the supervision, because professional supervision is primarily concerned with the execution of works, how it is done, whether it is done according to the building permit, whether it is done according to the project," says Radak.
He adds that it is normal for the public to violently react to such a court decision.
"It's just the judiciary, and I think the prosecutor will have a serious job to prove their guilt even for these people who remain on the indictment, because the really big question is whether they are engineers, based on what they saw on the building itself and construction site, could determine that something was wrong with her. A visual inspection of the building was carried out, measurements were taken, these are their testimonies. Slobodan Naumović, who remained on the indictment, claimed that he did a statics calculation that showed that the added load on the canopy was about one percent, which is why he did not think that it should be included in the project at all. "I really think that for some engineers it will be difficult for the prosecutor to prove whether they made a mistake," says Radak.
He finds it strange that he is alone Nebojša Šurlan remained on the indictment, when it comes to officials.
"Since he was the director of Railway Infrastructure, the company that managed the station, he should have been involved in checking the condition of the building, and thus of that structure. However, he was not the only director of that company, but those cables could not have corroded only during his term of office, so it is very illogical that only he was accused in front of Railway Infrastructure. I think there are elements for other people to be investigated as to why the building was not maintained," says Radak.
The editor of Forbes concludes that this is a very complicated case from both the construction and legal side.
"We are in for a long, exhausting and interesting trial when it comes," says Radak.
Lawyer Jovan Rajić is also not surprised by this decision of the High Court in Novi Sad, but he believes that it is political.
"I am not at all surprised by this decision of the court, which confirms that it was a staged performance for the public from the beginning. As the public did not settle this time, but continued to insist on establishing the truth, it became pointless to prolong the agony and a decision was made that the President of Serbia knew and announced already in the first week after the fall of the canopy - it is the fault of the profession, ie a technical error, there is no responsibility for the political clique from the top of the SNS", says Rajić.
