The Medical Chamber of Serbia elects a new director: "It didn't start well"

Medical Chamber of Serbia today (June 2) should elect the director, president of the Assembly and other bodies.

The candidates for director are a cardiologist from Novi Sad, a professor at Faculty of Medicine Ilija Srdanović, as well as the former director, gynecologist and owner of the private hospital Dr. Miodrag Stanić.

Dr. Ilija Srdanović was one of the speakers at the recently held student protest in Slavija. He says for "Vreme" that today's session "did not start well, and we will see how it will end".

"The session is currently in a break. So far, we have not made any major and significant decisions, except for some protocol ones. We wasted most of our time on whether the session will be public or not," says Dr. Srdanović.

The situation is like at the Faculty of Medicine

As reported by N1, in front of the "M" hotel, students of the Faculty of Medicine also appeared at one point. They were also initially denied entry, but eventually managed to get inside. In front of the building, for some reason, there are also members of the Police Intervention Unit.

One of the independent representatives in the Medical Chamber of Vojvodina, whose mandate was recently verified, Dr. Nebojša Baračkov, told "Vreme" that "the situation is the same as at the Faculty of Medicine, the office hours are not respected."

We remind you that a group of professors of the Faculty of Medicine is disputing the appointment of Dr. Valentina Arsić Arsenijević as the new vice dean. The dispute arises because Arsić Arsenijević was previously issued a public reprimand for advising patients to take the unregistered drug ivermectin against covid-19. The Statute of the faculty states that anyone who violates the code of professional ethics cannot be appointed vice-dean.

In the elections for the Regional Medical Chamber of Vojvodina, which took place earlier this year, a list of independent candidates won.
