"We apologize to all the citizens of Serbia, the owners of RTS, that this person is in such a high, important position," part of RTS employees announced talking about the editor-in-chief of the Information Program of Radio and Television of Serbia Bojana Mladjenovic. "RTS workers did not elect her."
In the video that the employees posted on social networks, certain statements of Mlađenović, which they consider to be disputed, were singled out, with the message that they did not participate in her election to one of the highest editorial positions in the public service.
The apology came from social networks, with "Our protest" profile, accompanied by the comment "Whose RTS - Our RTS", and signed with "RTS workers gathered in the fight for objective reporting".
In addition, it is stated that they provide support to students.
Attached to the order is a Petition for announcing a new public call for nominations for REM Council members.
Who makes up "Our Protest"?
This way of addressing the public was chosen by part of the public service workers during 2025, when they decided to say what they think about the work of their company. It is also similar to the address of the students, which for a long time went through the "Students in Blockade" account. The concept is similar because individuals are not singled out, but their reasons are potentially different.
From the account "Our protest", part of the RTS workers address the public anonymously, because otherwise they would probably suffer the consequences.
However, some of the employees came out several times with their first and last names to protest on certain issues, and those names are also on this account.
They invite all public service employees to join them.
They supported blockades, stood up against censorship
The "Our Protest" initiative issued an official statement providing full support to the students who blocked RTS buildings in April 2025. In the announcements were then appealed to the public that the responsibility should be addressed to the editorial office, and not to the journalists and field workers who work according to conscience, at the same time asking for urgent changes and the announcement of a new competition for REM.
After the intensification of the crisis and blockades, the association reacted with a statement in which it criticized the management of RTS for ignoring and keeping silent about the situation in front of its own employees.
In mid-October 2025, the group is over Instagram profile published statements demanding the dismissal of certain members of the Board of Directors (such as Predrag Azdejković), pointing out the censorship and pressure to which certain editors and presenters (such as Dragan Vučelić) are exposed.
How RTS chooses whose public opinion polls it cites and presents to citizens
"Blow into the wings" and "false hope"
Among the statements that the employees singled out, there is also a part of the conversation in which Mlađenović spoke about public opinion surveys and the possibility that certain forecasts influence the expectations of voters.
She said that when percentages that differ from the results of other agencies are published, certain political actors are "blown into the wings", which, she believes, could create "false hope".
Mlađenović also said that after the elections on October 25, claims that the elections were stolen could appear if the published results do not match expectations.
She also spoke about Ilija Srdanović, the first on the Student list. That, he says, after RTS tried to arrange his hosting, received an explanation that Srdanović is not the holder of the list but the first candidate and that the candidates want the topics to be delivered to them in advance.
Mlađenović explained that the reason for refusing the guest appearance was that they did not want to sit in the studio with a person whom they believe "abolished the perpetrators" of certain acts.
In the same context, she said that sometimes she has the feeling that she is "fighting against windmills", referring to earlier criticisms of students against RTS, so she referred to the coverage of the public service on March 15, when a large student rally was held in Belgrade.
Mlađenović said that she was the editor that day and that Dnevnik 2 lasted about 35 minutes, of which 22 minutes were dedicated to the rally in Slavija, with the inclusion of reporters and statements of participants. She stated that after that, when the delegations discussing the work of RTS claimed that the students did not appear in the public service program, she could show the contents of that edition of the diary as proof of the opposite.
Who is Bojana Mladjenovic?
Bojana Mlađenović became known to the wider public after an interview with the former president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, in Dnevnik 2, during which she called the students a "mob", according to Nova.rs.
She was appointed editor-in-chief of the RTS News Program on April 24, 2026, with a mandate of four years. Before that, she was the acting chief and responsible editor of the Information Program from mid-February, after the expiration of her contract with Nenadu Lj. Stefanović.
She came to both positions after Manja Grcic was appointed General Director of RTS on February 12, 2026.
