Hacker by attacking the user base Telekom Srbija the data of 160.000 users was stolen, it was announced on the dailydarkweb website. Unidentified perpetrators are said to have recently published the database online, claiming that the information was stolen from Telekom Srbija's internal portal.
Telekom Srbija confirmed the theft and that the data was stolen with the aim of blackmailing the company.
The stolen data includes full names, residential addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers and unique national identification numbers (NNIs).

Search for perpetrators
"We inform the public that a small part of the data from our user base has been stolen by as yet unknown perpetrators. It is about the data of a certain number of users of the satellite television service m:SAT tv," reads the announcement of Telekom.
The Telekom Srbija company immediately reported the case Ministry of the Interior, that is, to the High-Tech Crime Department:
"Given that the perpetrators of this crime contacted us with the aim of blackmailing us, communication with them was conducted in coordination with the MUP and according to their instructions, so that the perpetrators could be identified as quickly as possible."
That company emphasized that it is working intensively with the police to discover the perpetrators and to prevent any personal data of users from appearing on Internet.
"The security of telecommunication services is not threatened and all services are provided without interruption. We believe that the competent institutions will very quickly find the perpetrators of this criminal act," announced Telekom Srbija.
