In addition to the vast knowledge and skills that he perfectly commands, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić also learned a lot about the history of mining in Germany on Tuesday.
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić on Tuesday he visited Germany where he was hosted by the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and after the meeting the two spoke at a joint press conference about the possibilities of using German advanced technologies in mining in Serbia.
"I was able to learn a lot today about the history of mining in Germany, but also in the whole of Europe." Back in the Middle Ages, Serbia cooperated with Saxony in the matter of mining. For me, it was important to know what Germany's experiences are, and the knowledge we can get from our German partners, and that was also discussed today. "First of all, how can we use all that, to protect the environment and to protect the lives of people who live in the areas where the mine is opened," said Vučić.
He added that he was glad that they also invited representatives of the "anti-government media".
"I am especially happy that Petar Filipovića from Gornji Nedeljice is with us today, he is one of the people who came to speak against the project, and today he had the opportunity to ask questions and receive adequate answers." For us, the exchange of experiences, the cooperation of our academies is important", said Vučić.
Vučić thanked Germany for supporting Serbia on its EU path and opening cluster 3.
"I am grateful to Germany for supporting Serbia on its European path, Germany is the number one partner." We have additional growth in our trade, it will exceed 10,5 billion for one country, what is more important, over 80 thousand people work in German companies", he added.

Vučić was delighted by the public discussions
Vučić emphasized that it is important for us to exchange experiences, German expertise, German knowledge, as well as the cooperation of our Faculty of Mining Geology with the Academy in Freiberg, but also the education of our students and training so that they can manage projects, not only when it comes to lithium but also to different mines.
"Because Serbia is extremely rich in ores, minerals and rare metals. And of course, what left a special impression on us was the organization of public hearings and discussions with people from the local community, because right here there is agricultural land, where the majority of people are engaged in agriculture, to see how they solve these problems, how they discuss with people, how they organize information centers, how they receive them, how they have the obligation to answer every question, and we will be ready with the support of German experts to answer every question", said Vučić.
He pointed out that there is no doubt that in the economic sense this would bring a lot of good to Serbia and assessed that Serbia could provide a complete value chain.
"What we don't have enough knowledge about, that's what we prayed for and asked for here in Saxony and Germany today." And thank you to Chancellor Solac for giving us access to people who can help us in this matter," said Vučić.
