A large banner with the image of Aleksandar Vučić has been removed from the facade of the "Zlatibor" hotel in the center of Užice, where the premises of the SNS City Board are located.
The gigantic banner with the image of Aleksandar Vučić, which was placed in the center of Užice by the progressives ahead of the pre-election rally of Aleksandar Vučić on August 29 this year, was removed from a height of about forty meters by two mountaineers from Užice, which was greeted with applause by passers-by. "Ozon Press" reports.
The banner also had the following messages: "United Serbia" and "Vučić, the pride of Serbia".
The "departure" of Vučić from Užice was organized by the opposition Citizens' Group "Republic of Užice".
Ivan Filipović, on behalf of that group of citizens, announced that he, his colleagues and most of the citizens of Užice "do not want to see the image of the man who called our children Ustashas and blockaders".
"We no longer want to see the image of a man who is not welcome in this city, as the recent elections have shown, and who usurped all the levers of power in this country. We do not want to see a man who pardoned people who broke children's jaws and ran them over with cars. We do not want to see a citizen who, we deeply hope, will soon become a prisoner, because of everything he has done in the last 14, but 30 years," said Filipović.
Pointing out that "we must not forget the students who reminded us that freedom is not something that is obtained, but something that is fought for", he assessed that the students "showed more courage, dignity and responsibility than many who decided their future for decades".
"Students started this country, awakened hope and showed us that giving up is not an option. And that's why, when we talk about changes today, we have to know who we owe a huge debt of gratitude to - our students," said Filipović.
He thanked the "comrades from the Citizens' Association "Da (NO) Breathe Deeply", Užice alpinists, whom he emphasized "did the most difficult part of the job", as well as the students "heralds of freedom".
