A graduate of the "Sveti Sava" high school in Požega, LE from Kosjerić je busted six hours before the prom, announced the Association of Citizens "Initiative for Požega".
"According to the information we have, our high school graduate from Kosjerić has been detained for up to 48 hours, and he is expected to be brought before the High Public Prosecutor tomorrow," said the initiative.
That's why a protest was organized in Užice in front of the Court tonight at 19 p.m. where the friends of the arrested high school graduate, who didn't go to their prom because of the arrest, showed up.
"We are standing here today, not because we want to, but because we have to, because once again what should be guaranteed in any orderly country, which is justice, was taken away from us. Today there was not supposed to be a protest here, today was supposed to be a celebration. A young man from Kosjerić, high school graduate, student, son, brother, friend, should have celebrated the end of a chapter of his life today. Instead of his graduation suit, he was handcuffed, instead of spending time with his friends, he was imprisoned in four walls", said the students from Kosjerić at the protest.
His crime, they said, was that he dared to act humanely, to try to prevent conflict, to reduce tensions with his hands, not to inflame them.
"On the video that is circulating on social networks, it is clear that our friend did not participate in the attack on the journalist, but tried to prevent it. During that same election day in Kosjerić, SNS supporters attacked several journalists. The journalist had a flat tire on her car, others were chased around the city - no one was detained, no one was heard, no one was invited for an interview. Because in this country, if you are with the government, you can do anything, and if you are not, you are guilty, regardless of the truth," they said.
This is not just double standards, this is systemic injustice, they assessed.
