From the UNS, they request that the prosecutor's office investigate the case of violence and initiate proceedings against the person responsible in order to send an unequivocal message that violence against journalists is punishable and inadmissible.
Lea Apro told UNS that while she was reporting from the blockade, the students noticed that a young man was filming her.
"I approached him and asked why he was filming me and asked him to introduce himself." He tried to leave and was hiding his face from the camera. I also asked him why, as the students told me, he was against blocking the faculty. He didn't answer. "I followed him, only for him to snatch the phone from my hand at the moment I managed to take a picture of his face," Apro said.
She added that in the meantime she found out the young man's name, as well as the fact that he is a student at the Faculty of Technical Sciences.
"After he took my phone, I asked for it back, but he passed it to another person. In the end, I managed to take it over, but then five young men gathered around our team with questions about what we were looking for here and how much we planned to film. They were filming us all the time, saying that this is not a political rally, to which I replied that I am a journalist and doing my job," Apro told the FoNet agency.
NUNS strongly condemned the attack
On the occasion of the attack on Leo Apro, the Independent Association of Journalists of Serbia also announced, reports N1.
"Over the last few days, attacks and threats against journalists have become more frequent because of the performance of their work," they said in the statement.
NUNS reminds that, according to data from the database of the Safejournalists network, 17 attacks and pressures on journalists were recorded in November alone, and that, according to data from the NUNS database, 149 attacks, threats and pressures on journalists have been recorded so far in this year.
"We demand that the authorities do everything to protect journalists during reporting and enable them to carry out their work unhindered, and at the same time we appeal to all actors in society to reduce tensions and enable journalists to carry out their work unhindered", NUNS states. - a.
