After new evidence, the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade expanded the indictment against Vladimir and Miljana Kecmanović for neglecting and abusing their minor son, who committed the massacre at the "Vladislav Ribnikar" school.
Because of the suspicion that Vladimir and Miljana Kecmanović committed the criminal offense of neglecting and abusing minors. The High Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade submitted an expanded indictment against them to the High Court in Belgrade. Nenad Stefanović, the chief public prosecutor of the VJT in Belgrade, said that the indictment had been expanded, after collecting all relevant evidence during the criminal proceedings against the defendants.
Nenad Stefanović reminded that the criminal proceedings, against Vladimir Kecmanović for the criminal offense of serious crime against general security and against Miljana Kecmanović for the criminal offense of illegal production, possession, carrying and trafficking of weapons and explosive substances, are in the main trial phase before the High Court in Belgrade.
Stefanović indicates that there is a justified suspicion that in the period from April 30, 2022 to May 3, 2023, "by grossly neglecting their duty of education, they abandoned their minor child", who on May 3 of last year in the Elementary School "Vladislav Ribnikar" using with firearms took the lives of a security guard and nine students of that school, as well as severely injured a history teacher and five other students.
"Due to the stage of the proceedings in which the public was excluded by the decision of the High Court in Belgrade, I cannot present the details of the extension of the indictment, but I indicate that it was the incriminated behavior of the parents that resulted in this unprecedented, tragic event on May 3, 2023, in the elementary school "Vladislav Ribnikar" ", concluded the chief public prosecutor of the VJT in Belgrade.
