Vukan, a student at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Belgrade, stated that the reasons for the total blockade are numerous, primarily related to the fact that, as he pointed out, the student demands were not met.

"We have asked for elections several times. We will continue, even though they are not about to be called," Vukan told N1.
He added that the target of the constant repression over the past 11 months was mostly students, but also a much wider citizenry.
When asked how long he will be in the blockade, he answered: "Until the demands are met."
