Since when? Student movement asserted as a political option, their most powerful weapons for promotion were videos on social networks. In recent days, especially a lot of humorous content has been circulating on Instagram, TikTok and X.
This month, students also resorted to more traditional advertising - billboards and television. At Serbian Radio and Television (RTS), for the first time, a student advertisement was released.
Tabloids about student advertising
The Student List television advertisement shows the scene of the theft of sarma from the plate, the tearing of the calendar from 2012 to 2026 and finally the prevention of the theft of the election ballot.
She inspired domestic tabloids to associate the Student List with the Democratic Party and Bojan Pajtić, who are neither mentioned in the advertisement nor on the list.
"The new pre-election video of the Student List clearly showed what the public has been pointing out for a long time - that Bojan Pajtić and the Democratic Party are behind them, who want to return Serbia to the period before 2012 and the time of DOS rule. At the time of looting of companies, at the time when 500.000 workers were left without work, at the time of Dejan Šoškić's inflation and the devaluation of the dinar, at the time when there was no money in the budget to pay pensions". it says in the text of Republika, the Serbian telegraph portal.
The media, including B92, Pink and Novosti, made the same claims without attaching any evidence.
Content on networks
Various videos of students in the blockade have been viral on the networks for months. The last one, in which former president Aleksandar Vučić appears, was made by students in the blockade of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts (FDU).
That video, as well as numerous previous ones, were criticized by the authorities, who claimed that the FDU participated in the making of the videos, thereby violating the Constitution. The dean's office of FDU rejected the allegations.
Speaker of the National Assembly and third on the list of the Serbian Progressive Party for the upcoming parliamentary elections, Ana Brnabić reacted to yesterday's announcement by the Dean's Office.
"It is shameless to lie that FDU, or at least one significant part of this state faculty, is not engaged in the campaign," she said. She did not specify whether she was referring to the last video of FDU students.
"We, the students of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, have been active for almost two years both on the ground, in direct communication with citizens, and in the media where we convey our messages to those same citizens. We would ask you not to take the statements of citizen Aleksandar Vučić as the backbone of your journalistic work, and especially not those that insinuate any illegal action and violation of the Constitution by our students or the higher education institution that our students attend," the FDU students told "Danas".
