One hundred years since the birth of Duško Radović was marked last night with the promotion of a monograph about the unforgettable children's writer and chronicler of our climate. in the Small Theater "Duško Radović".
The author of the monograph "100 years of Duško Radović" is Zorica Hadžić. Conceived as a tribute to Radović's literary creativity, in addition to unpublished texts, notes and drawings, the book also contains his private and business correspondence, testimonies of close friends and associates, as well as scanned archival and other materials. It is a book about Radović, but also a book by Dušan Radović. Zorica Hadžić assigned the role of the narrator, who will connect the collected material through storytelling, to the poet and academician Matija Bećković, a great friend of Duško Radović.
"I think that Duško Radović is a better poet for today's children than Jovan Jovanović Zmaj, that he corresponds with them much better than Zmaj," Zorica Hadžić, a professor at the University of Novi Sad, a literary historian and critic, told Vreme.
He notes that it is not about "any comparison of which poet is better than the two, because what Zmaj was for the 19th century is Radović for the 20th century", but about the fact that "today's children will rather take Radović's book than Dragon. After all, they do not recognize many words from Zmaje's songs, so it is understandable why Radović is closer to them. In addition, Radović is a poet who encourages you to imagine yourself, he is all about the subtext that you think about, which is also a quality that attracts the reader."
The jubilee, Zorica Hadžić believes, does not mean an "infusion" of reminding the public of Duško Radović "because he is a living writer and because there is not a day without something in our everyday life reminding us of him." As for Duško Radović, the jubilee came because it was his turn to come, and that's all."
Boris Miljković, Slavimir Stojanović Futro and Dušan Šević are responsible for the layout of the large-format monograph of over 500 pages.
