The coalition of several opposition parties submitted today to the City Election Commission (GIK) the list "Serbia against violence" for the Belgrade elections on December 17.
They came carrying boxes with signatures of support, flags of Serbia and party flags of the Democratic Party, Green-Left Front, Freedom and Justice Party, Movement of Free Citizens, Sloga, Zajedno and Ecological Uprising.
Their candidate for mayor, Vladimir Obradović, said that the change has begun and that the capital of Serbia is not facing elections, but "the last moment for Belgrade".
"The last moment to restore normal life and start shaping the future of the city," Obradović said.
He called on all citizens to be part of the change. "To build bridges, not walls, to build ideas, not divisions." If we rise above our differences, we can build the future," said Obradovic. He emphasized that he wants a city where everyone feels proud.
The holder of the list, Dobrica Veselinović, said that the coalition stands for a Serbia without violence, without corruption and socio-economic inequalities.
"For a city without violence in schools, on the streets, and a city where every child has a place in kindergarten," said Veselinović. He added that the coalition advocates for "a city without violence against infrastructure and nature", in which traffic moves easily. "I believe that we will succeed with the help of the citizens," said Veselinović
