In the accident near Risan in Montenegro, one person was killed and 16 were injured. All are citizens of Serbia, said the director of the hospital in Risno.
Dino Panjako, director of the Special Hospital for Orthopedics, Neurosurgery and Neurology "Vaso Ćuković" in Risno, said in Dnevnik RTCG that the condition of the injured in today's traffic accident in the town of Lipci stable.
Panjako stated that all the passengers in the van were citizens of Serbia.
One young person died after attempts at resuscitation.
"The child, who was about ten years old, was in a severe cardiorespiratory collapse. He was resuscitated and accompanied by an anesthesiologist and an anesthesiology team, he was escorted to the institute, that is, to the Clinical Center of KBC Podgorica, where treatment continues due to severe physical injuries caused by damage to internal organs," said Dr. Panjako.
One patient was referred to Kotor Clinical Hospital Center due to an isolated surgical injury, and the other 14 patients were fully diagnosed and kept for treatment in Risno.
Nine have serious physical injuries, and five have minor injuries.
He emphasized that the hospital's capacities were quite sufficient to adequately deal with this difficult situation.
The traffic accident happened on the Kotor-Nikšić road, when the van went off the road.
According to unofficial information transmitted by the media, the accident was reported around 1:40 p.m., after which emergency services teams were sent to the scene.
About 20 firefighters with six fire trucks participated in the big rescue operation. In addition to members of the Kotor Protection and Rescue Service and the "Bogoljub Brezić" Voluntary Fire Company from Perast, firefighters from Herceg Novi also came to help.
