The Movement of Free Citizens decided today to take part in the upcoming elections only if all the parties gathered around the Platform for European Serbia and National Serbia appear in a single column.
"We believe that the gathering of all political parties that have the same plan for Serbia is the only correct way to replace the current regime and change the direction of the country, and that a separate exit could threaten changes in Serbia," the party statement states.
No agreement between ฤilas and Aleksiฤ
The PSG makes this decision after two days ago, the president of the Freedom and Justice Party, Dragan ฤilas, confirmed to N1 that Miroslav Aleksiฤ informed him and his party that the People's Movement of Serbia will not be in a coalition with the Platform for European Serbia, within which the SSP also operates, in the upcoming elections.
"Miroslav Aleksiฤ informed us that they decided to go alone, that they think they will get more votes that way and that's it," ฤilas told the media.
Serbia in the EU
If there is no broad coalition, PSG will support the student list, provided that their actions and attitudes do not contradict our basic principles, it added.
"Our decision is not to give up our own values, but to represent them more strongly through a joint performance with political partners who also see Serbia in the European Union. The goal is to defeat this regime together, and then to decisively lead Serbia along the path of European integration," says PSG.
The movement of free citizens believes that at this moment everyone must put a common goal ahead of their mutual differences, regime change, and that is why the condition for going to the elections is clear - a unified performance of the entire opposition, in order to gather the voices of citizens who want change around one political alternative and to create the best possible chance for a change of government, the statement reads.
