After the incidents in Backi Petrovac on Saturday (August 9), the police detained two war veterans during the night, who were detained for up to 48 hours, Jan Ferko, a member of the Initiative for the Survival of Farmers, told FoNet today (August 10).
He referred to information from the organizers of the photo exhibition, which was supposed to be held on Saturday in Bački Petrovac, as part of the "Slovak National Festivities".
The exhibition is interrupted by dissatisfied supporters of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).
According to Ferko, the veterans pasted photos from the student protests, which were part of the canceled exhibition, on the SNS premises on Saturday evening.
Ferko stated that there was no one in the premises of SNS, and the veterans continued to the house of one of, as he stated, the "beaters" responsible for the exhibition being interrupted.
As he said, everything passed without major incidents, with shouting, verbal tensions and "throwing over the gate". After that, everyone went their separate ways, and information about the arrest of the veterans came later, Ferko said.
According to his information, the veterans were most likely transferred from Bački Petrovac to the Investigative Court in Novi Sad. It was announced that a new attempt to hold the exhibition will be organized today at 17 pm in Bački Petrovac.
