The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, after consultations with political parties and the Central Election Commission, announced extraordinary elections for the mayors of the municipalities of Severna Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, Leposavić and Zvečan for December 18, reports Kljan Kosova.
"The Central Election Commission is tasked with taking all the necessary actions to organize and hold the elections for the mayor of the municipalities of Severna Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, Leposavić and Zvečan, in accordance with this decision and the law," Osmani's decision states.
After the meeting with the representatives of the political parties, the President of Kosovo emphasized that she will turn to international partners with a request to monitor the elections and to have as much international participation in the electoral process as possible.
She stressed that security institutions will take all measures so that citizens, regardless of ethnicity, feel protected, safe and exercise their constitutional rights, reports Kosovo Online.
On November 5, municipalities with a Serbian majority are without mayors who resigned due to the decision of the Government of Kosovo to replace Serbian license plates with Kosovar ones with markings, as well as due to the suspension of the director of the Regional Police North, Nenad Đurić. Serb nationalist police officers, members of the Kosovo Assembly and from the ranks of the Serbian List, councilors of municipalities in the north of Kosovo, judges, prosecutors, customs officials and members of the Serbian community in the police from the municipalities in the north of Kosovo have left the Kosovo institutions.
The condition of the Serbs in Kosovo, i.e. Serbian list and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to return to Kosovo institutions is to cancel the decision on the re-registration of Serbs on Kosovo plates and the formation of the Union of Serbian Municipalities (ZSO). If the Serbs boycott these communal elections, there is a danger that in the local areas in the Ukoi, where they make up the majority, an Albanian leadership will be formally appointed.
The EU and the USA are putting pressure on Pristina to postpone the re-registration and enable the formation of the ZSO. November 21 is considered critical, when the Kosovo police should start fining drivers who drive vehicles with license plates that do not comply with Kosovo (Serbian) laws with 150 euros.
That is why the head of diplomacy, Jozep Borelj, invited the negotiating teams of Belgrade and Pristina to come to Brussels urgently. In addition to the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, the Kosovo delegation includes adviser Aljbina Kurti and president of the branch of the Party for Democratic Action (PDD) in Preševo, Ardita Sinani.
This is the first time that a political figure from the Preševo Valley participates in the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, which is a "big event" for Albanians from the south of Serbia, JUGpres reported.

The Republic Election Commission (REC) made a decision today on determining the final number of voters in Serbia

A citizen of Belgrade whose polling station in Banja Luka was changed in the voter list without his knowledge claims that the Ministry did not correct his data and that the deadlines have expired. The elections are on October 25 and he still doesn't know where he will vote.

The pardon procedure implies the appropriate role of the Minister of Justice, who should initiate the procedure or submit an opinion on the pardon, says prosecutor Radovan Lazić.
